Aunt Kristin's Soccer Game
I was taking pictures and it felt like I took a thousand but only a few of them turned out well. Action shots are hard to take! Here is Kristin dominating the other team.
Kristin is in the midst of two defenders but with her awesome foot skills she was able to control the ball. Way to go Kristin!
Kristin is mid-air here. This is the game when she scored a goal :)
James doing an Elvis impersonation. This picture makes me laugh every time I look at it!
Crazy face I know, but since I don't have a lot of pictures with James, I thought that I would post this, even though it is very silly!
We are a happy family!

Week 1 in Alaska!
I was supposed to start my internship this past Monday, but because paperwork wasn't completed with BYU legal and my supervisor was going out of town for vacation, it looks like I will be starting on May 6th-ish. This is nice because I now have a short vacation to enjoy playing with Matt and James.
This weekend Matt applies for dental school! The next step will be call backs for 2nd applications followed by interviews, but we won't hear any responses from schools for a few months.
James is growing so much! His aunt Kristin is doing a mentorship with a photographer, so we have lots of pictures of James. Here is a preview of what he has been up to!
This is James in the kitchen after church. For Matts birthday James got both of them matching blue ties that coordinate with this shirt.
James is always laughing!!! He really is a really happy baby- we are very lucky parents :)
His hair started out with a reddish tint and then started turning brown. Lately it has been getting lighter, so we may have a little blonde boy...who would have ever thought that I would have a blonde baby?!
Because Grandma and Grandpa Mauger have stairs, James has learned how climb stairs! He climbs the stairs faster and faster everyday! He hasn't learned how to go down stairs, and we aren't too sure how to teach him. Any suggestions?
James with Aunt Amber. She is so loving and is such a good aunt. James loves to see her when he wakes up and play in her room while she gets ready for school.
Another thing that James loves to do is stand. He tries to climb and stand on everything. We always have to keep an eye on him because he always finds a way to get into things!
Matt and James went on the back porch and saw a moose! Only in Alaska ..... :)
This is how James' hair looks like on a daily basis- it is wild! His hair is starting to get long in the front and over his ears so I am thinking of trimming it, but I still have mixed feelings... what to do what to do!
James is standing again :) Matt has a matching shirt that says 'Big kid'.... oh how cute!
What a happy little boy!
Grandpa Mauger playing with James.
James is learning what it means to kiss and has started giving kisses when we ask him to. He hasn't learned exactly how to do it yet, but I think it is so adorable!

Alaska here we come!
So we are completely thrilled to be going to ALASKA for the summer!! Yes I am STILL in school, but after my internship this summer (which is what is taking us to Alaska), I will be able to graduate! The date of graduation is still up in the air (long story- basically it’s TONS cheaper for me to be in school for health insurance purposes rather than me graduating… and we are poor so that makes it a tough decision).
Anyways, back to Alaska. We leave on the 22nd, so if anybody knows anyone who would like to take care of our place, let us know. We will be coming back to it in late August so all of our stuff is here, but rent will be EXTREMELY cheap.
I keep getting off track- back to Alaska :) Matt is going to be a stay at home dad while I do my internship. It will be nice because this will be the only opportunity for a long time that he will have this much interaction with James due to dental school. I will be doing an internship with Alaska Psychiatric Institute. I am in the therapeutic recreation department, so we will be working with the patients and doing things like yoga, crafting, and maybe even a little rock climbing and then therapeutically applying those activities to their lives to increase their self esteem, self efficacy, etc. I am nervous because though I have done the process before (recreation then therapy), I have never worked with this population before… so wish me luck!
We are very excited for James to spend some quality time with Matt’s family, since they have only seen him for about a week total!
Updates and progress about Alaska will surely come!
Easter pictures
So we decided to go and get some pictures of James for the Easter season. They are still on the way because we went too late, but here are some online proofs! Enjoy!
So I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this picture! His happy face totally describes his personality- he is always laughing and having fun. His hair is always crazy like this as well- no matter what we try his hair in the back refuses to stay down!
So this picture makes James look HUGE! He really isn’t that chubby, but he is a big boy… he is in the 85 percentile for his age!
This is the only picture that we have to this point that show his two teeth! I love this picture even though his hair is hanging over his ears :)
So this picture was one of the hardest ones to take because James kept wanting to crawl. The second we would lay him down he would immediately get on his hands and knees and start crawling away!
