Six Weeks of bliss :)

This past weekend was absolutely wonderful! James was able to finally meet my dad and brother and see my mom again! They came up for his baby blessing! James is officially six weeks old and looks so much bigger than when he was a newborn! Here are some recent pictures:

James’ Photo Shoot

We were lucky enough to find a professional photographer that was giving away a free photo shoot for a newborn baby boy in order to update her portfolio... so needless to say we jumped at the offer! Here are some of the photos with more to come later!

baseball mitt

James did not like his head in the mitt, but it ended up turning out great!

hanging in cloth

The goal of this shoot was to have James’ head peeking out, but he was trying to go to sleep and did not let us do that- I kind of like how this picture turned out more than what we were trying to do

laying on black blanket

He finally fell asleep when we took this picture- this is one of my favorites! Boy his hair is red! (Who would have thought?!)

Moses basket

We call this the Moses picture because the basket reminds us of the basket Moses might have been in :)

teacup

James was asleep during this picture, but boy was he uncomfortable! He was too big for the teacup, but I really wanted a picture with him in it!

James’ First Bath

We were very excited and nervous to give James his first bath at home. Both of us had never seen it been done before, but luckily we received a DVD in the mail from Huggies that filmed all of the basic care procedures for babies, including sponge baths. James definitely wasn't a fan of the sponge bath after about 4 minutes, but overall he did a great job. Best of all, when the bath was over, we were able to dress him in his little robe that was a bit oversized but still adorably cute. Here are some pictures from the event :)007

Preparing to get wet! Keeping his body covered so he would stay warm while we washed his head.

008

Before getting wet, James has a smile on his face- he is such a pleasant baby!

009

At this point James is still enjoying the bath, probably wondering, “What;s going on?!”

Here Matt is washing James’ hair- what a great daddy!

Here is James after the bath with his adorable robe on!

The robe is definitely too big, but he looked too handsome not to wear it!

Our newest addition

I know that I am very late in updating this blog, but better late than never! On August 31, 2009, our wonderful baby boy came into this world at 6:30 at night. His name is James and we weighed 8 pounds 8 ounces and was 20 and a half inches. He looks exactly like his daddy did when he was a baby. James has gray blue eyes with reddish-brown hair. He is the most pleasant baby ever! He is never fussy unless he is hungry, and is very alert and attentive when awake. Here are some pictures since the big day!

005- mom timing another contraction with her phone

At the hospital at 6 in the morning waiting to be induced since I was 9 days late. I was having contractions about 5 minutes apart and in this picture I am timing a contraction.

027- mom continuing to push

Here I am pushing- I ended up pushing for 3 and 1/2 hours! I was SO relieved when James was out!

General Updates!

Yay! My little brother received his mission call this past Friday and he will be going to Anaheim, CA! He reports in a week- August 5th! (which happens to be my birthday!) Matt and I are pumped to see him when we pick him up from the airport next week.

Other exciting news is the upcoming weekend! We get to have Matt's family with us for 4 days! Matt's cousin, Erin, is getting married on July 31st so we will be attending the sealing and 2 receptions. I am excited to go to the Manti temple, as this will be my first time attending this particular temple. It will be fun to finally be able to show some immediate family my big belly! :)

As of today, we have 3 weeks and 5 days until the due date! My belly is HUGE!! I am holding the baby high, at least that is what an old lady at the local grocery store said. OH! We decided on a name! The name of our baby boy is going to be James Matthew Mauger! We are very excited for the baby! Our latest purchase has been the travel system- a car seat combined with a stroller. I absolutely love it!

5.19.2009

We are currently in our 27th week of pregnancy! (In other words we are a few days away from entering our 3rd trimester and hitting our 7 month mark) We are definitely getting more and more excited as the days go by. The baby (sometimes known as Cletus the fetus by matt haha) is kicking tons and as far as we know, is doing great! We have recently painted the baby's bedroom in a tan color with the accent color being green. Our nursery theme is monkeys, which I absolutely love! Hopefully we will be able to set up the crib sometime this week, and as soon as we do we will post pictures! Here is a look at my belly :) (As of May 10, 2009)
